The ECTA or Electronic Cigarette Trade Association is an industry wide organization that works together to ensure the correct legal and regulatory composition is applied to all electronic cigarette products. Formed in 2011 by ten Founding Directors after several months of discussions with competing Canadian vendors, legal advisors and consultants. The goal of the ECTA is to collate the varied regulatory laws seen across Canada. And then form the program which will be initiated as the ECTA Industry Standards of Excellence. The ECTA in turn would ensure that all vendors adheer to these rules and regulations. The ECTA follows the basic guidelines from ECITA (Electronic Cigarette Industry Trade Association) which is operative in the UK and EU. Both have faced similar problems that Canada is facing and has profitably gained market approval for their industry. As well has gained participation from government regulators.
